Memorial Day Weekend '09

For this year's Memorial Day weekend Mom and Gabbi ventured to Canada! Goo went international. The folks at the boarder could have smiled more, but they were nice enough to let us in to the great country of Canada.

Our first stop was the Vancouver B.C. Zoo. There is no easy way to get to the zoo, so it seemed that we were lost, then out of no where we saw the sign.

At first glance the zoo was a bit disappointing, but once we got pasted the enterance, it was awesome. We walked the entire zoo paths and took a ride on the Choo-Choo train. From the train we took a shuttle ride through the bear section of the zoo. Gabbi still remembers that the bear was hungry and munched on an apple while we watched. Gabbi was able to sign most of the animals. Below she is looking at a large turantula and is attempting to sign spider too. Such a smartie pants.

Second stop was the hotel in North Vancouver. We stayed right on the water and in a market center. Gabbi at first was not thrilled at all about going into the room. She wanted to go to Mommy's house. It was kind of sad. Then once I told her I brought her favorite movie, she was cool. We enjoyed a nice dinner and walk around the area. Then we both crashed out early.

The next morning we enjoyed a quick walk around the market and picked up some local cherries. Then we were off to our final destination...Vancouver Aquarium!!! Gabbi loves the fishies.

The Aquarium was awesome. We got there in time to see every show they offered. Gabbi's favorite was the Belugia Whales and Dolphins. She loved it all.

We even brought home a small belugia whale and she must of carried that thing around for a month and still loves to cuddle with it.

After the zoo, we drove through the Stanley Park and made a quick pit stop at the water park there in the park. Gabbi didn't care that she was fully dresses, she still loved to jump in the puddles.

Sad to say, but we had to head back to the US later that day. Again, more smiles were needed at the boarder, but they are just doing their job.

It was a great trip and I can't wait for us to explore more of B.C. soon!
